One Gallon Jug of DRI-ONE® Fire Retardant Class A for Natural Fabrics, Bare Wood & More

DRI-ONE® Flame Retardant made for Interior Applications only.

DIRECTION: Apply DRI-ONE® Flame Retardant to the fabric at a rate of 140 square feet per gallon. Heavy-weight or dense fabrics will need to be treated on both sides, to ensure proper saturation. Allow fabric to dry completely before use. The raw wood to be treated should be free of dust, dirt, debris and other finishes such as paints and sealers. It is recommended that application be made to insure complete saturation of the lumber. Dip, spray, roll or brush DRI-ONE® on the item and allow drying thoroughly before application of other finishes. After spraying, clean out spray equipment with clear water.

APPLICATION: For best coverage, spray evenly, coating entire surface. Two coats are recommended. Dry thoroughly before applying 2nd coat. Drying time varies according to temperature and humidity. The treated item can be painted or stained after the DRI-ONE has dried. May be applied to any bare wood or natural textile product to provide flame spread control and suppress smoke generation in the event of a fire.

RE-TREATMENT: It will be necessary to re-treat fabric with DRI-ONE® immediately after laundering. Fabric with direct exposure to ultra violet light will need to be retreated on an annual basis. All other fabrics should be re-treated in 5 years, provided that they are installed in a protected environment, without direct sun exposure.

• 1 Gallon – Up to 200 Sq Ft. for lumber application, Up to 140 Sq Ft. for natural textiles application
• 5 Gallon Pail – Up to 1,000 Sq Ft. for lumber application, Up to 700 Sq Ft. for natural textiles application
• 55 Gallon Drum – Up to 11,000 Sq Ft. for lumber application, Up to 7,700 Sq Ft. for natural textiles application

CERTIFICATION: A treatment certificate is available upon request.

TOOLS: Spray, roll, brush, airless spray gun or submerge unfinished wood or other forest products. Once treated and dried, apply your choice of final finishes such as sealers, stains, undercoats, primers, and paint.

COVERAGE: 200-300 sq. ft. per Gallon. The suggested manufacturer’s minimum of 200 square feet per gallon on raw lumber. Do Not Dilute. Not recommended for use on plants or greenery.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Material must be clean, dry and free from oils. DRI-ONE® is NOT effective when applied to non-absorbent surfaces and wood which has been previously sealed or painted with water repellents, stains, paints and other finishes.

SAFETY: Keep out of reach of children. Use rubber gloves and eye shields if product causes irritation, clean up with clear water. Store in original container, tightly closed. Avoid skin contact and do not inhale spray mist. Avoid contamination of any water supply with chemical or empty container. Avoid eye contact. Flush eyes with clear water if necessary. DRI-ONE® is non-toxic and non-hazardous.

DRY TIME: DRI-ONE is just a little heavier than water; gauge your drying time accordingly. Weather conditions (rain and humidity) should also be taken into consideration.

COMPATIBILITY: Because of the multiplicity of fabrics, each material should be evaluated for compatibility to DRI-ONE® Flame Retardant. Spray a small piece of the material to be treated with DRI-ONE®, applying two coats for best coverage. Dry thoroughly. Drying time varies according to temperature and humidity. Any shrinkage, texture or appearance changes should be noted on the treated sample.

FIRE TEST: Always perform a fire test to verify your application is successful. Once treated items are thoroughly dried. Perform a small scale test similar to NFPA 701 field test on a treated sample piece. Use a lighter, match and or Butane lighter on a test piece to verify that your application was applied correctly. The Flame MUST Self-Extinguish within 2 seconds once fire source is removed. Test every 3-5 years, if the area treated has lost its protective barrier then you should reapply.

CERTIFICATION: DRI-ONE® Flame Retardant meets the fabric testing standards set forth by the United States Testing Company, Inc. for the California Administrative Code, Title 19 for Class A Flame Retardant and for those set forth by the British Standard 476: Part 7: #1997 for Class One Flame Retardant, DRI-ONE® Flame Retardant also meets the standards set forth in the NFPA 701, Class A. Test results are available upon request.

The product has a number of uses including treatment of lumber to achieve a Class A flame spread rating as set forth in A.S.T.M. E 84, also known as the Steiner Tunnel Test. This method is similar to ANSI 2.5, NFPA No. 225, UBC No. 42-1 and UL No. 723.
